This is a list of some of my favorite Mac software and web sites resources for that software. I have provided links to places to download the demos or full product if it is free. Also have provided links to buy the full version from a proven online shop if it is a commercial software product.
Starcraft: Popular strategy game in the same style as Command and Conquer and Warcraft.
Diablo: 2-D role-playing game set in a fantasy world.
Carmageddon 2: Driving simulation where you win by finishing the race or destroying the other drivers.
Myth 2: Impressive 3-D strategy game set in a fantasy world
Unreal Tournament: The latest Doom style game. Good graphics and a lot of fun multi-player
Railroad Tycoon 2: In-depth strategy game where you control a railroad company. Good graphics and game play.
Rainbow 6: Based on Tom Clanceys novel of the same name. Like a more strategic version of Doom.
Escape Velocity Override: Sequel for Escape Velocity; space adventure game where you can choose your own destiny.
Gameranger: Utility to find other Macintosh gamers. Supports most commercial and shareware games.
Virtual Gameboy: Gameboy emulator so you can play pokemon :-)
Roger Wilco: Utility so that you can talk to other gamers while playing your favorite multi-player game.
StuffIt Expander: Essential so that you can un-compress any software you download from the internet.
Flash Player: Plug-in for your browser so you can see Flash multimedia on some peoples web sites.
Hotline: Utility for file storage and exchange. Can find most commercial software to download.
Snapz: Allows you to take screen shots from within any application with a simple keystroke.
Surfers Serials: Serial numbers updated every month with a nice application to view them in.
Real Player: Allows you to view real audio multimedia.
Dreamweaver: Powerful application for creating web pages.
Fireworks: Great application for making web graphics, interacts well with Dreamweaver.
VSE Be Found!: Registers your web site on over 200 search engines, gives you tips on how you can get a better ranking.
VSE Link Checker: Checks all your links and gives you a report back.
VSE Web Site Turbo: Optimizes your html and graphics so your pages load faster.
Anarchie: Very good ftp client.
Alladvantage: Alladvantage pay you for displaying a small banner at the bottom of your desktop while surfing the net.
ICQ: Allows you to send instant messages to anyone else using ICQ. Has the biggest user base for this type of software.
AOL Instant Messenger: AIM for short, similar to ICQ but supplied by AOL, has some nice features.
Soundjam MP Free: The best Mp3 player for Macintosh. A must have if you like listening to music.
